Self-Archiving and Repository Policy

The Rest: Journal of Politics and Development supports author self-archiving and the dissemination of scholarly research through institutional, disciplinary, and other non-commercial repositories.

Authors retain the copyright in their work and are permitted to deposit all versions of their manuscripts in an institutional repository, subject repository, personal academic website, or other repository of their choice.

Authors may deposit the following versions:

  • Submitted Version (Preprint): Authors may deposit the original manuscript submitted to the journal at any time.
  • Author Accepted Manuscript (AAM): Authors may deposit the peer-reviewed and accepted version of the manuscript immediately upon acceptance.
  • Published Version (Version of Record): Authors may deposit the final published version of the article immediately upon publication.

No embargo period applies to any of these versions.

When depositing the published Version of Record, authors should provide full bibliographic details of the article and, where available, a link to the article on the official website of The Rest: Journal of Politics and Development.

Articles published in The Rest: Journal of Politics and Development are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) License. Repository deposits of the published Version of Record should retain the copyright and licensing information associated with the published article.

This policy applies to institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories, funder-designated repositories, and other scholarly repositories selected by the author.
